Ibukun is known to have the ability to treat many of the symptoms associated with depression, and many studies have been done to show the benefits of this treatment. That means that the study did not find a difference in depression between the two groups. I wonder if we should have looked more closely at the data? It’s interesting, but I think it’s a poor study.
The study was even less scientific than this blog post suggests. It was a placebo controlled study (meaning, there were no medications involved), meaning there are no real controls and instead participants are asked to follow their regular psychological treatments. So as far as I know, there is no real control group in the study.

I think I figured this out in my first time I had an article on this, so I will just paraphrase it here: When you have 100 people give you something that in essence is the same as a drug, but you can’t take the drug, you are not doing a true placebo controlled study.
