By Although I was never an audio mixer in the traditional sense of the word, I did work as a mixer, I started my first audio mixer job in my mid-20s at an audio company. I took over the mixer position after my boss left, and I’m still the same person I was in the beginning of my audio mixer career.
I’ve gone through a lot of different projects and have a good deal of experience, and I started to get into the industry, mainly because I’m a full time audio mixer. I’m pretty bad at mixing, or at other things. I always work on my own projects, but I have a lot of work to do, so I have no time to go to the office, talk to my kids, get into my own voice, and do whatever I want to do.
Ive had some amazing opportunities, but Ive never really found a job that I really enjoy. I have to be really focused to get a job, so I can’t go to work and just sit around on the couch all day. I want to be the best audio mixer I can be, and I want to be able to work on my own projects, but I also want to be able to be at home with my kids.
You can find audio mixer jobs on the internet, but I think it’s a better idea to find out what your calling is by going to a local audio-mixing workshop and seeing if it interests you. Ive done some audio-mixing work, but I’m always looking for more. I’m also hoping one day to be able to do some professional audio work, but that’s probably a lot of work.
I think a lot of audio-mixing jobs are also general-purpose audio production jobs.
